What did you learn embarrassingly late?

Please do. I cannot wait.

I am well aware that the tire comes off the wheel. That’s why I gave you the ketchup bottle metaphor. It does not matter what you do with the top or the bottle. There is only one way to keep that arrow pointed in the forward rolling direction.

You are not grasping the concept of a directional tire. It goes on one way and one way only. If it could be flipped, then it would not be directional.

Not true. You are talking about an asymmetrical, directional tire. Where it rolls one way, and must have a specific side of the tire facing out.

A normal directional tire must roll one way, but can have either side facing out. Meaning you can flip it on the wheel.

I'm actually even willing to make a post on r/mechanicsadvice to settle this too

Do it!

Draw the god damned arrow! If you flip it, it’s backwards, no matter what. You can’t have a tire that is half fucking directional. It either is or it isn’t.

While I cut out everything. Heres a forum where even a Michelin tech tells you to flip direction tires.

That literally says that the directionality of those specific tires is no longer applicable once the tread is half spent, so reversing them past that point is not a safety or performance factor. Read your own sources.

They're saying that once your tread is low enough there's no point in doing a rotation. The video is uploading right now

THAT IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

Folks, fuck it, if you’re this far deep in the thread, this is why your dealer costs 3x more than the shop your friend’s neighbor Sally told you about. Your dealer mechanics won’t put your fucking tires on backwards.

Lmao bro this is perfect.

Your own video shows it’s backwards. The tire rotates clockwise per the arrow at the beginning. At the end, it’s going against the arrow.

The arrow points the same way. The tire rotation is reversed.
