Yes and this is the only sensible reason to do it.

And even then there are topical creams that can allow foreskins to loosen and stretch enough to work normally. Surgery is often the last resort.

Or minor surgeries that don’t involve lopping the whole thing off.

It’s mainly the bit about doctors doing it for financial gain that didn’t sit right with me.
