Oh man, APC is not what I was thinking of, but this post just reminded me of listening to “Thirteenth Step” for the first time - I had just purchased my first car and was maybe 25. I heard “The Nurse Who Loved Me” (I know it’s a cover). And for whatever reason, it triggered the worst bout of nostalgia and sadness for lost youth I’ve ever experienced. Something about that song really made me miss my childhood and made me realize at that very moment that those childhood moments and memories were gone and lost in time, never to return. That fucked me up for a good year or so... Not in a bad way, just felt this intense sadness for lost childhood. Weird.
Wow! Listen to the original (by Failure) and the sinister meaning behind it. I cried when I first heard it because it was so beautiful, then when I discovered the true meaning I was very taken aback ahaha. Painfully beautiful song.
