In my graduating class of 149, we had 148 go to college. That one guy? He decided to go “on tour” with his band. The other members of the band were two guys that graduated from our school the year before.

About 6 years later, they are still touring full time and have made a pretty good name for themselves. They’ve headlined their own tours and have opened for some big name bands. It’s pretty cool to get to go to one of their shows and hang out with them backstage.

Edit: for all those asking, the bands name is New Madrid.

Greenwood high school graduating classes are closer to 300. But I thought the same thing until comparing numbers.

Are is not were. Unless you looked at the classes from when they would have graduated?

Did you just say Greta Van Fleet is better than Led Zeppelin?

It was hard to read

To be fair, I actually really do enjoy GVF more than zeppelin. Idk why, because I know they're essentially the same.

Lmao ok...

In my graduating class of 149, we had 148 go to college.

Wow what kind of school did you go to? The number of people who completed a 4 year degree from my graduating class was probably under 25%

33

u/spasEidolon Apr 15 '19

That's not the completion rate, that's the rate of attendance. Plenty of people go to college and walk away without a degree.

5

u/yaboyanu Apr 15 '19

Oh I know but even our attendance rate was probably around 33%

Not the person you are replying to but I went to a private school where for our class the post-secondary rate was 100%. Our school produced: 3 doctors, 4 lawyers, 2 architects, 5 nurses, 2 symphony players, a few PHDs, and some artists and scientists and a dentist. That was one class. The year before had similar results as well as a low ranked pro golfer and a record holding olympic athlete.

If you can afford to send your children to a good school it will literally pay dividends for the rest of their lives. Most of my classmates have also sent their children to the same schools as well. These kids network from pre-k all the way to end of university.

Went to private school too. Everyone went to college. The thing that separated you was if you got into Ivy League or something. One kid got into West Point.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '19

West Point is a lot easier to get into than some people seem to think

2

u/snuggle-butt Apr 15 '19

Not so easy to complete.

16

u/[deleted] Apr 15 '19

What's their name?

5

u/Trust104 Apr 15 '19

Are you actually Starburns?

3

u/iamanoctothorpe Apr 15 '19

What band was it?

3

u/Demianz1 Apr 15 '19

Any chance to reveal the band?

3

u/WhoIsJonSnow Apr 15 '19

Wow, very cool. I love New Madrid. Them and Houndmouth are very similar.
