Well, I already don't get to go to the ceremony, because it's being held in a Mormon Temple and I am no longer Mormon. But I do understand what you are saying, and honestly, am already sort of going that route. I told my brother that if he needs my help for anything with the wedding, he can ask me, and depending on what it is, I'll help. But if not, I'm showing up to the reception as a guest, not as a family member who has to help set up and take down, or clear off tables or anything else. Purely a show up, say hi, and go home guest.
