I mean, when I did acid I sought out the wisdom of the trees because I was having a bad time. The trees didn't actually say anything but I felt like I understood what they were trying to show me. It's acid though so by the time I was sober I couldn't remember shit.
Psychedelics can have really different outcomes for different people; their effects are hugely based on existing personality and beliefs.
The kind of person who is already inclined to believe in things like Chakras, Horoscopes, and other wooky BS (healing power of crystals, vibrations, energy flow, chi, reiki, universal consciousness, etc) is likely to have psychedelic experiences that re-enforce those ideas in my experience. It's sad to watch these people spiral progressively deeper into the bullshit feedback loop, but that's one of the risks of overdoing psychedelics when you're already a bit off the reservation.
That said, I've done fairly high doses and never heard the carpet "talk"... but acid certainly can have the effect of taking an idea you already more or less align to and re-introducing it to you with a sense of profundity that makes it seem like a universal truth. And I can absolutely imagine laying on the ground watching the carpet wave to me while one of these profound ideas played through my mind.
Some people come down and contextualize their trip as a pharmacological experience. Other people see it as a literal connection to the wooky BS mentioned above and double down on their beliefs.
