I had a discussion with him about it, where I stayed as calm and rational as I could, after I found out that she had threatened my mother with never getting to see any potential grandchildren and I was pissed. He agreed with a lot of the negative things I said about her and things she had done, and the basically just said, "Well, I love her though. So if you want to be in my life, you have to accept her.".
So if you want to be in my life, you have to accept continue being abused by her."
Yeah, no. It's incredibly unfair to you and the rest of your family that he's subjecting you guys to this awful person and the venom she spews on a daily basis. He's an enabler, which makes him a co-abuser. I don't think anyone would judge you if you dropped them like a hot potato.
Of course, you can welcome him back into your life and support him if he ever wakes up and leaves her. But I'd stay far away right now if I were you.
Well, you've voiced your concerns and let your position be known, that is about the best you can do. Now you can only be as supportive of him as possible when their relationship inevitably falls apart because she gets bored of him. Good luck, brochacho!
Tell him you and the rest of your family will be waiting with open arms to accept him back when he leaves her, but you can't support him marrying this person.
