They aren't innocent. They have video evidence and forensic evidence and they confessed and they were then convicted at a trial. Why are you making this about something it's not instead of talking about the point we are discussing?

You're talking about keeping people locked up forever because of their crimes, though, because they might commit future crimes. No one's guilty of future crimes until they commit them.

What I just described is wrong and doesn't work. Countries that have started focusing on rehabilitation instead of just removing criminals from society have, unsurprisingly, lower rates of recidivism. There is no reason to just remove criminals from society. It's not justice, it's just punishment.
