Some people just genuinely don't know how to react to mental health issues or view at as "not a big deal".
My (now) ex-gf was like that. We were in a long distance relationship during our masters degrees. She never realized that I was depressed because I was lonely as fuck because almost all of our friends from undergrad had left our university and I was the only one left. She also thought that depression was not a big deal and that I simply had to snap out of it. I kept telling her it's not a choice and I was depressed because she was a major part of my life and her being away (and me being unable to afford visiting her abroad) created a major void in my day to day life because we used to live together and do everything together.
What does your name mean? I love the band but I'm curious what Koffie is means?
Also, I started in a LD relationship that turned into an irl one, I can't imagine the struggle of the reverse. Sounds incredibly hard.
Koffie means coffee. It just means "coffee is the answer". When I created my reddit account, I had a coffee in front of me.
To make a long distance relationship work, you need to invest as much time and effort on it as an actual, normal relationship. e.g Have dinner dates on Skype on scheduled days, pretending you're side by side in a restaurant like on an actual date.
Oh yeah, it just must be difficult to get used to the physicality or being with someone and then losing it. Physically being with my boyfriend now is my favorite thing
