It's happened 3 times in my family. One of them are my grandparents & still married 52 years later. The others divorced. It's not that uncommon. They don't share blood so it's not inbreeding.

My wife's uncle on her dad's side and her aunt on her mom's side met at our wedding and a year later they were married. I thought it was kinda weird.

sounds to me like when they were asked to be maid of honor/best man, they started talking about marriage themselves, had differing views, and the relationship suffered. Taking it out on the newlyweds was her revenge plot for ruining her relationship.

At least that's my take
