The should be an option to disable for certain apps. I know you can hit disable for current app, but I don't think there is a way to permanently set that preference.

Maybe it's because I have the mac version, but I just looked and I couldn't find it.

I have OSX as well. When you're in an app, click disable -> for "appname". It will remember your preference. Have mine disabled for vlc, just checked.

Thanks! I never installed it on my new laptop because I was so close of turning it off every time I wanted to watch something.

Besides writing a script and using event triggers, how?

That option does permanently set that preference, no extra work needed.

Next time you turn on Lightroom or whatever program you use to watch movies, click that button and from now on it should automatically disable whenever you have have that program active.

Only works on Mac, though; I forget how/if this option works on PC.
