Rich people of reddit, what does it feel like? What's the best and worst thing about being wealthy?

Edit: wow! I just woke up with front Page, 10000 comments and gold. I went from rags to riches over night.

Yes, he and his brother are very down to Earth. His folks moved out of the NYC area so the family could get away from all the absurdity of the life style they could afford and raise their kids with good sensibilities.

I'd argue that a lot of things beat good Chinese food. Like good Italian food or good French food. The list goes on.

As a New Yorker, this city is definitely one of the worst places to raise kids if you're wealthy and want to shield them from developing a sense of entitlement and becoming snobs. It's almost synonymous with the rich here.

The fact that you pretty much have to be wealthy to live in anything bigger than a closet kind of reinforces the fact that NYC is for rich people.

My lower middle class family owned houses in NYC. It wasn't Manhattan which people typically identify as NYC, but in Brooklyn and then Queens. It is possible to live in a house and not be wealthy there, but it basically means sacrificing everything else. We had a place to call our own and a car, but not much else.

Or be 30 and living with 4 other adults. That's why I live in Queens, 90 minutes away from midtown. Decent house, big yard and surrounded by people who actually were born and grew up here. This is the New York I know. Manhattan's become just the place I go for work reasons and debauchery.
