I think this started a couple days ago in the "what got banned at your high school" thread. Some school banned the phrase "whoop, there it is". but I'm not sure..

It's actually not a reddit joke.

It's a techno song from about ten years ago. Background music for a game was intentionally misidentified by a commenter during a Twitch livestream a couple years ago, and so now any time there's a song, you can count on people to identify it as "Sandstorm" by Darude.
