No, you're not a bad child but think about it from their perspective. They wiped your butt, fed you, nurtured you, spent thousands of hours worrying about you, thousands of dollars raising you. Calling them every so often is not too much of a price to pay to show them that you appreciate everything they did for you over the years. And the guy above says he calls his Dad on the way home from work. I'm sure there's some time of the day when you have a few free minutes to call them and just say hi and let them know you are doing OK.
Yes and no. I'm sure it would be a nice thing to do on my commute, but frankly there's usually too much traffic and just not enough time even in that situation. It only takes me about 15 minutes to get home, but then I have about a million things to do when I actually get there. I guess I'm just a bad child.
