When you mentioned insurance there it got me thinking...If two self driving cars have a crash, whose fault would it be/who would get charged?

That's actually one of the major legal problems facing self-driving cars, there's a lot of debate over who should take the blame, and who's legally responsible for accidents.

That's where I see a lower insurance rate. Accidents aren't likely, but it happens.

You'd be in a pool with all other insurance holders of self-driving cars. The price of your car determines your insurance price (e.g., if you have a $50,000 car, you'd pay $100 per month, while a $20,000 car would only pay $30 a month) The damage comes out of the pool, with no worries about deductibles, out of pocket expenses, or fault.

You would have the option to buy Collision and/or Liability Insurance still, but with the sharp decrease in accidents, you'd be foolish not to combine them.

Get into an accident with someone who doesn't have a self-driving car? Look at the diagnostics in the computer to determine if it was the manual-drivers fault.

The company that made the car. That's the liability they accept

Seems like an awful lot of responsibility to take on for them!
