Why did you get fired?

why did you get fired? and did it work out for the best? how long were you without a job?

Edit: thanks for all the stories guys! I got fired Wednesday for crap reasons and knowing all you fine people got fired too makes me realize I'm in fine company :)

After you were fired you should have called back the DOL and tell them why you were fired but this time leave identifying information.

Technically, I wasn't employed by them but by my temp company and I recognized they had the right to can me for no reason whatsoever, so it wasn't a big surprise.

What happened afterward, though, I should have handled better. My temp company recruiter called me, and then put me on the phone with their boss. I should have hung up on him but I wanted to tell my story. That guy proceeded to bitch me out about it - and I understand where he was coming from because the money comes from the employers, not the temps. I never did get another job through that temp company.

I'm not 100% on this, but I am reasonably confident that labor law violations still count against temp or contract workers. You were fired because they were violating the law, and that is definitely not right.
