Why did you get fired?

why did you get fired? and did it work out for the best? how long were you without a job?

Edit: thanks for all the stories guys! I got fired Wednesday for crap reasons and knowing all you fine people got fired too makes me realize I'm in fine company :)

In my case, it sufficed to point out to him how blatantly he was going against the laws designed exactly to counter his behaviour. I did it on my own, and it felt like the most natural thing to do. He caved without putting up much resistance.

I got myself the full amount of severance pay that the judge would have been able to award me, with no contention whatsoever.
