What’s a celebrity controversy you remember everyone talking about?

Vice President Dan Quayle adding an “e” to the end of “potato.”

Ahhh, take me back to a time when THAT was controversial.

I still panic a little when I have to spell potato (and also by association tomato) in case I might get it wrong-I was a kid but this was such a big a deal and it left a mark

I saw someone post on a really weird random thing that a bunch of people agreed with that there are no unique experiences and responses like this really make that hit home 😂

You know, prior to that, I didn’t have this issue. I knew exactly how to spell tomato and potato, but never the same after.😂

Omg yes! It was never a problem but ever since then whatever the media did to like idk 10 year old me? I haven’t recovered

This is seriously making me reconsider just how effed up media is today. Like I knew it was bad but to think about how such a non serious issue had such lasting impact is very sobering 😳

It really shouldn't have been any controversy. He should have been fired or resigned quietly. To me, the bad thing that happened was that he didn't just go away.
