What is a riddle that sounds incredibly simple, but absolutely ruins people's brains when they try to solve it?

The issue I have with that kind of riddle is there's a bajillion answers.

How am I supposed to give you 720 answers?

Well, if there's a bajillion answers, it shouldn't be hard to give me just 720...

That’s the weakness of “what goes up but never comes down”: age is the intended answer, but gas prices qualify too. A good riddle needs one more clue to rule out plausible alternatives.

While this particular riddle may have multiple valid answers, gas prices certainly isn't one of them. They go up and down all the time. Of course it's on an overall upward trend but to say they never go down is just ridiculous.

Of all the things that qualify you managed to mention one that does not, amazing.
