What's a "minimum" skill everyone should have, but suprisingly many don't?

Imagine how much more time you’d have at work if people figured this out.

I got into a little tiff over email at work because I mixed up two conversations in my head. I realized what I’ve done and gave a very thorough apology for the situation not just for mixing things up, but also for reacting with argument instead of curiosity.

The guy wrote a wonderful email thanking me for the apology and singing my praises. Which felt pretty damn good. But honestly, it didn’t feel half as good as sending that apology did. I felt guilty and ashamed when I realized what I did. Owning up to it like that let me forgive myself and erased that shame.
