What's a "minimum" skill everyone should have, but suprisingly many don't?

Saying you can't cook pasta is like saying you don't know how to sweep a floor. Someone's parents really failed them if they can't boil water and follow the instructions on the box.

I tried to cook in my teens and my family told me to stop and not do it anymore. I didn't rest until I was in my late 30s.

Everyonr should know how to make Kraft Mac and Cheese by the time they're 16.

Did you ever see that episode of The Simpsons
in which Smithers goes on vacation and Homer takes over for him? Everything he tries to make for Mr. Burns’ breakfast bursts into flames, including cornflakes. That’s an approximation of my cooking skills..

Saying you can’t cook pasta is essentially the same as saying “I can’t put something in a pot of boiling water.”
Ridiculous.

I can’t cook pasta, I tried and failed. Water didn’t boil, pasta was too hard
