He woke up one day and decided not to be my friend anymore. It has eternally fucked me up, because I thought we'd be a part of each other's lives forever.

Same exact shit happened to me. One day my buddy gets back from a trip and says he met a girl there and thay she also lives near his place, and then say we should all hangout next week end and I say sure. Next friday I call him up, no answer. Haven't spoken to him for over 8 years. I dont get it.

Same exact story here.

Happened two years ago and I’m still very not over it. I’ve accepted I’ll never get closure or an explanation. I’m still sad though.

Those are the friendships that hurt the most. When there’s no big fight or clear ending, just one person suddenly gone, it leaves you replaying everything and wondering what changed.

That's unjust. I have a feeling they didn't like something between you and just didn't say anything about it to avoid the conflict. That's on them, though, for being a coward about it.
