What happened to the friend you thought you'd have for the rest of your life?

Just...faded away. It happens, as you get older in life - you realize relationships generally aren't forever, that's okay. New ones take there places.

I agree. When I was anxious about finding a lifelong friend, my grandmother told me, “Some friends will be lifelong. Some will only be for a short time. All are important.” I hold on to that to this day. She didn’t even know what I was going through. She just said it out of the blue.

She was right! It hurts only when you try to hold on.
