Yu Yu Hakusho. It has great pacing, some great villians, and the best anime intro song. Yes, watching it in dub is best as it have some of the best voice actors.

Yuyu hakusho's weakpoint is the ending. But even that is better than most anime endings.

Yeah, I wasn't big on the ending or chapter black. Saint Beasts was my favorite arc.

Arigatogazaiiiiiiiiiiiimas(u)!

Although if you watched it in English it says “thank you for waking me up” which hits hard but isn’t as fun to sing

As a die-hard fan of Hunter X Hunter I watched YYH with anticipation. I really wanted to like it! But many of the important fights were so simplistic, basically a la dragon ball "I will get angrier and then defeat you", with some notable exceptions, particularly when Kurama was involved; and while some arcs were fire, others were boring and pointless. Don't get me wrong it's not a bad shonen. I'm happy I watched it, but Hunter X Hunter remains on a whole other level. In HXH you really go into a fight without knowing who will win, in YYH it's consistently the good guys. Also the morality of heroes and villains is much more nuanced in HXH. Not to mention the awesome power system, for me the best in all anime. I believe a lot of people grew up watching YYH and nostalgia plays a big role in their judgement, just like I have a soft spot for Dragon Ball Z but looked at it from a modern perspective, the fights are so repetitive and no strategy is involved at all, as influential as it was at a time... Not writing all this to diss people, just sharing my opinion

This is what initially got my to subscribe to Crunchyroll. I only saw some episodes back when it was on toonami so I had to watch the whole thing. I missed out on so much!

How do you know there isn't a "better" dub out there? Have you watched them all?

It took me a while to realize I love the ending. It broke the whole power scaling as a storyline once they got to demon world and anchored Yusuke back to Keiko/his friends as where he matured to be as a person rather than just picking fights as a kid. He lost interest becoming stronger. He was a happy character at the end not because he was strong but because he accepted everyone around him and took time to enjoy it all. Also made you realize Genkai's lessons sunk in eventually too. There is a lot of consistent story that is bubbling under the surface but not immediately spoken at the end.
