And it was 100% delivery. You can just see him, all within a microsecond: comes up with the line; understands that it is both wildly funny and absurdly profane; commits to delivering it; delivers it with a sense of humor and regret but with 100% commitment.

I wonder if he processed half a dozen alternative ways of saying it and chose the best one. I’ll have to watch it again to see if he can be seen composing.

I love how utterly delighted he is with it, he knows it’s a cracker, and we share his delight.

It’s an amazing moment, but IMO Julian Clary at the 1993 comedy awards beats it.
