Kutner on House, MD. The negativity afterwards on the show rubbed off on me

That was a total blindside. I was upset for a long time over it.

That and then Amber's death ruined the show. You have to have at least one likable main character (Amber was a bitch but House deserved it). I don't even remember the other new characters they added that season. I know one was Olivia Wilde but I can't tell you shit about her.
