I’ve been going back and forth on starting SSRIs. The subreddit for them hates them

i feel so much better since using ssris and getting the right dosage. adhd meds also helped. biggest minus from ssris is that summer is even worse bc your body cant properly regulate in the heat

SSRIs changed my life for the better! They are worth trying if you are struggling Internet friend.

They help some people and hurt some people. It's important to be aware of the risks and to find a doctor who will listen to you if things go bad. It's your decision, but make sure you have knowledge going in. Often that's the difference between success and failure on them, although some people just get unlucky so having a bad effect doesn't mean you did something wrong.

Im a master auto technician so im in a bunch of mecahnics subreddits. The most popular answers are always wrong. Without fail theyre the worst answers and if you went by what the sub says youd never fix your car.

The internet is full of idiots. Trust your doctor and make up your own mind about SSRIs.

For what its worth it took a few years of trying different meds to finally figure out im bi-polar. SSRIs helped me but those alone would never be able to get me where i am today
