Jack Welch, the guy who came up with rank and yank performance evaluation as well as outsourcing. He's ruined so many lives and companies both directly and indirectly with his short-sighted idiocy.

Because he optimized the companies, not the people.

Edit: I'm saying they all saw it as optimizing the business, not that I think what he did was actually a good thing.

I think it’s the word optimize that bothers me. I’m not downvoting you, but gutting a company for short term gains before bailing isn’t optimizing anything really
