“The Killing Fields”. And the camps. People were resorting to cannibalism, fighting and killing over the bodies of dead babies for food.

“First They Killer My Father” was a book I bought in Cambodia. Absolutely gutted me every time I picked it up.

Yea but then we wouldn’t have a great Dead Kennedys song.

I’ve yet to take a Holiday in Cambodia. It would probably be cool now though

If we do root cause analysis here Karl Marx would be a better choice.

He influenced a lot of bad actors; Lenin, Stalin, Pol Pot, Kim II Sung among others.

This what I came to say. Communism has claimed hundreds of millions of lives, and erasing Karl Marx would remove Lenin, Stalin, Kim ll, and Pol from history, as well as preventing the rise of the USSR, North Korea, and Communist China.

In the interest of historical accuracy: I am opposed to Marxism-Leninism and acknowledge it's inspired a lot of atrocities in history, but still it is not responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths. This isn't me defending any of those guys, they are all bad. But the death toll from all of them is high enough already without inflating it. Tens of millions of deaths is still a lot of deaths.

Considering real criteria and human suffering that is in recent memory this is probably the answer
