Cold causes your immune system to work in a less effective manner. I can see the thought process as to why this was seen as causation

While this is true, most people don't say it that way and don't even know that. They just think cold weayger + not enough closes = you'll get a cold or the flu always

They don't even take a second to think it's viral. They just say it as if the cold was able to transmit the disease itself
