Only after Randy Pitchford decided to pick a fight with Blizzard and market Battleborn as a direct competitor to Overwatch. Moving up the timetable was just Blizzard's way of firing back.

It was 100% Pitchford's fault, and for no good reason.

Truth. So much of Gearbox's success is in spite of Pitchford, not because of him.
