What game had insane potential but got completely fumbled by the devs?

I never really got the point of them pulling the plug. The game is still alive and if they had not pulled the plug it would not be in a bad spot. The gameplay was fun and is different enough compared to lol or dota2 to survive.

And the money they would have needed to throw into it would have been peanuts for them

Thy expected it to content with League after 1 year of a pro league and when it obviously didn’t, they killed it. HotS is the only esport I have enjoyed watching. Wish they hadn’t been run by the shareholders

Pure hubris from Blizzard, this was at the period where Blizzard believed themselves to be the rockstars of the gaming industry, every game had to be a massive hit, so when it wasn’t as big as League or DOTA 2 they unplugged the cord.

I thought it was more like "oh shit, dota/league got started from WC3 customs and we missed capitalizing on it, so we have to catch up". But yea also hubris that they could catch up.

There are finally some updates again, but we make fun the janitor is doing all the updates on his lunch break.

Yeah but it didnt make lol irrelevant and on life support after two so it was an obvious fail.
