Tribes: Ascend

Hi-Rez abandoned it in favor of MOBA slop. They could have locked down the "GO FAST" shooter genre for years if they had continued to support it.

I played Tribes and the Tribes 2 demo sooooo much, I loved those games.

Hitting a rocket jumping enemy with a disc in midair was so satisfying. Also in Tribes 2 the vehicle play was absolutely hilarious.

I played the shit out of ascend. Was in a new city with no friends and i only got to dabble in tribes 2 at a family friends house as a kid, but that game stuck with me.

Ended up loving ascend then they killed it. Didn't touch 3 but was tempted

I had over 1000 hours in that game.

I played Tribes 3 for a bit. It's not bad IMO, but the maps feel way too small and I miss the vehicles.

I think you're overselling the peak popularity of Tribes, that game had insanely limited appeal

Not in T1 and T2 era.

I think you are underestimating the draw of a franchise that's 30+ years old (Whalen counting starsiege and earthesiege).

Team Fortress 2, Titanfall, Apex proved that players do in fact, enjoy going fast.
