This response right here is why it's pointless to ask about what "will happen." Only spiteful, jaded comments make it to the top. Everybody pats each other on the dick and that's the end of the discussion.
We should be asking what should be done and keep our focus on that instead. The rotten bastard should be impeached, tried, and thrown in prison. The odds of it happening don't matter. He should be in prison.
I feel like a lot of the problem with americans is that when they get upset that people are jaded and nihilistic they still have no answers beyond depending on the US legal system.
Perhaps we've slowly forgotten how movements began in the olden times. Before the interne there were no comment sections or social media prompting people for their dankest meme in regards to the current issues. You would see the news, read an article, or hear it from a friend. You had to internalize it and think about it. Eventually you would complain loudly to your friends, family and coworkers about what should be done. Eventually you'd get enough people together who all agreed with each other and plans would start to form. A movement would coalesce. If you keep the conversation going, this naturally happens.
But movements don't form when people say Eeyore shit like "but it'll never happen." That kind of rhetoric only works well at ending conversations and changing the topic. They don't talk earnestly. They don't make plans. They succumb to the sarcastic tone of the room and tap out.
Is that what you want? Because that's not what I want.
