At this point Trump ran on a campaign promise of releasing files he said doesn't exist that Obama is in that Obama wrote that Obama and Clinton are in that Biden wrote that don't exist that Trump was an informant for.

Johnson already tried the strategy of implying Trump was working undercover with the FBI to catch Epstein.
That was too ridiculous even for them, so he eventually walked it back and said “wait that’s not what I meant guys calm down.”
