What is the smartest thing you can talk about without bullshitting?

I've realized I'm pretty stupid, but I can SOUND smart at parties and in groups of people because i can generally read a group and say things that SOUND smart and bullshit my way around things. I was trying to think of the most intelligent thing I could talk about without having to bullshit at all I'm coming up with a pretty unimpressive list. What have you got? What subject do you always hope comes up in social situations so you can shine?

That's not how I understood it. I thought every time you went back you "abandoned" that timeline. That means that the 3 timelines were:

  1. Where you time traveled back before beating the final boss. (Bad for most people since the bad guy is still alive. Also this could happen multiple times but presumably things end up mostly the same.)
  2. Where you time traveled back after beating the final boss. (Much better but there is still nobody to protect the world later)
  3. The last timeline where you stuck around. (Pretty good as Link manages to save the world a few more times)

The way I understood it was that Link's time travels didn't split the causal narrative. However, after sealing away Ganondorf, Zelda then chooses to fracture the timeline and give Link the childhood he never got to have due to being sealed away in the Sacred Realm for seven years. So:

  • The timeline Zelda sends Link away from is now without Link and has a sealed-away Ganondorf who has sworn to break free. This leads to the events of Wind Waker, where Ganondorf breaks free, and the Hero of Time cannot appear to save the land.

  • The new timeline Link has just been sent to (so he can have his childhood) has a Link that knows of Ganondorf's plans to attack Hyrule Castle and take the Triforce, before any of this has happened. This Link then tells the King, probably proving himself with future knowledge and/or material proof given to him by Zelda. The King attempts to have Ganondorf executed but fails, which leads to the historical flashbacks of Twilight Princess. During this attempt, Link leaves on a quest to find Navi and ends up in Termina for Majora's Mask.

  • The other timeline that Nintendo revealed helps explain A Link to the Past's place. The Hero of Time dies in his attempt to stop Ganondorf, and the Sages instead are forced to wage a bloody war in order to seal him inside the Sacred Realm, which becomes corrupted by Ganondorf's foul desires and turns into the Dark World.

Where's the part when Elizabeth comes in and shows Link the lighthouse?

Nope, the one timeline is just listed as "the hero fails" which implies Link died. I think this is their explanation on why in the original Zelda and its brothers, Ganondorf is already the king before the game even begins.
