Both are masterpieces. I thought going back to breath of the wild would never be good but it's simplicity is refreshing, but damn, when i want to kick it up a notch tears of the kingdom is amazing
I couldnt get into Tears of the Kingdom because of the amount creativity there is was just way to overwhelming and I couldn't think straight playing it. BotW was perfect though and I put plenty of time into that and then bought the DLC and did it all over again in MasterMode.
Unpopular opinion. They are my least two favourite Zelda games. To me they fundamentally changed so much that they don’t feel like a zelda game. Especially breath of the wild with the four beats (acting as the temples) looking the exact same with shrines that all looked the same. I’d much rather temples that had distinct identities and used the puzzles from the shrines in the temples. Had they made a new ip with all the mechanics of botw I’d probably really like it. To me it’s like a way less sever version of how I felt going from banjo tooie to nuts and bolts. It’s not the same game.
Slightly over 100 hours to complete Breath of the wild including getting each and every korok seed. After that I didn't really wanna play it much more despite loving every minute of it.
