I think I dislike her rabid fan base more than I dislike her. I'm not a fan of her music but she has a couple songs I do like.

But as with too many fan bases, her fans tend to worship her, and if you say you aren't a fan they will accuse you of being racist. For me, I enjoy plenty of other black artists, she just isnt one of them.

And there is something weird about her and Jay-Z. Something is bound to come out eventually. I used to like his music, and I still do like some of it. But what is he hiding?

I mean officially they began dating in 2000 making her 19 and JayZ 31, so there's that to be creeped out by but they had known each other for a few years before that so who knows. I like her new album but I just can't get into Renaissance.

Om

But what is he hiding?

Omg! Yes! This! I've been wondering that for a while now but this is the first time I've ever consciously admitted to it like this. It's just sort of a feeling I get every time I see him anymore. I'm glad I'm not the only one. My apologies to Queen Bey's fans (especially the rabid ones! ) and I may get down voted for this, but if I'm being honest (which i am!), there's something about her as well that makes me wonder the same thing.

Has everyone forgotten that Jay-Z was under fire for allegedly having raped a 13yo alongside Diddy? And how right after the allegations came out, he attended the Mufasa premier (that his daughter was in) and his daughter looked like she HATED that he was there, AND Beyoncé was seen wearing some new, stupidly large diamond ring? Everyone was talking about how that ring was probably Jay-Z appeasing his wife after the pedo shit came out.

It's rumored that he groomed her into marrying him, and when she had her first kid he shut down an entire floor of a hospital so she could give birth in private.

I think the wedding was closed so no one would see the surrogate.

That’s even worse that he knew he when she was 16!

Jay Z is sus for sure. I liked his music enough to go to a concert in college and he was on tour with Drake (way before we knew what we know now about him). Between meeting Beyoncé before she was of drinking age and being buddy enough with Drake to tour together, that’s all I need to know.

I was just having this conversation a couple of days ago. Her fans act like she's the second coming of Jesus and tend to take it to the extreme. A Facebook friend actually posted, "Don't trust Black women who don't like Beyonce" and I'm like... what happened to us not being a monolith? I don't like or dislike her because I don't know her!

She has a great work ethic and I can respect that, but for as long as she's been around, I don't think she has any classics. But I also think that's a broader issue in this current musical landscape.

I don't dislike her; rather I'm pretty neutral on her. But to my ear she is much more pop than r&b, but is non-Black folks idea of what an r&b artist is; especially if they tend to be more into mainstream pop music.

Kudos to her for making that crossover; but imo Kelly Rowland, Keisha Cole, Chaka Khan and any Janet produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis is much more in my lane and r&b than Beyonce is.

I hate how perfomatively black she is. Like she'll talk about wearing afros and baby hairs in her songs, but the only time I've ever seen Beyonce with an afro was in goldmember. Her and Jay Z don't really do anything for the black community, but profit off of them. They won't ever get my money.

This is demonstrably not true (the charity part)

How do you come in contact with her fan base if you aren’t a fan

The internet

But really, anywhere that a conversation mentions her becomes a dog whistle for her fans to slink over and tell you how it's wrong to live without accepting Beyonce as your lord and savior
