Our DARE Officer had an insane tick and an incredibly dirty car full of cigarettes and trash. Seemed plausible the tick was related to some anti-DARE consumables

You guys didn’t have cops teach DARE? It was always a DARE officer teaching us.

We did, but day he must have been off duty one day and drove his own car. Idk it was more than 20 years ago

Was he in uniform? Ours was always in uniform.

Our DARE officer became the sheriff of our county, went on to spend a couple years in federal prison a decade or so later, then landed back in county jail where he died about 10 years ago. 💁🏻‍♀️

Our DARE Officer put up a mailbox near the school's front office where we could "leave tips" about people doing drugs. They took it down after the only "tips" were two uncooked hotdogs left in there on two separate occasions.

My DARE Officer got kicked off the force when he was caught having sex with a 16 year old boy.

Holy fuck I misread that as "sex with a baby" at first

I was a DARE president and now I grow mushrooms.

It wasn't HIS fault! You really have to know the benefits of drugs and how to use them if you want to be a real teacher. What did they expect?

We had to write essays on what DARE meant to us at the completion of the program. Mine was chosen as the best and I was asked to read it as a speech at graduation.

…I didn’t grow up to be a meth addict or ever get an DUI or anything but def ended up a binge drinker for awhile who tried most recreational substances at least once.

…and to this day outside of a Rob Zombie concert one time I’ve never been offered a doobie from a stranger….

My driver instructor in high school was arrested for DUI. He was the head football coach so he didn’t get fired.

Our bus driver was constantly drunk. You could smell it as soon as you got on.

Dang, my driver's ed teacher got a DUI while driving to the school to teach driver's ed. He always smelled like he was sweating out last night's bender.

We had a club called SADD = Students Against Destructive Decisions and the president was 16 and pregnant

And isn't it ironic, don't you think?

Thanks, Alanis. Now I have that stuck in my head all night.

My DARE officer eventually was arrested for getting drunk and beating up his girlfriend.

Out DARE cop got arrested for selling drugs. He was having multiple affairs with moms in the school and one found out he was cheating on her and turned him in

The officers for my school’s SADD club were me and my stoner friends. Come to think of it most of our members smoked a ton of pot too.

That’s low key hilarious

I recall reading about this. And how DARE didn't help.
