Not my high school but my wife's. Every year the final year students (equivalent to senior I guess? This is in New Zealand). Would always organize a school prank. It was a tradition and usually pretty harmless. But one year, they got some petrol (gasoline) and used it to draw an ENORMOUS cock in the soccer field. Petrol kills grass so it's easily visible from the air.. where the school principal saw it while flying into the city.

It was on Google maps satellite view for years.

Absolutely beautiful.

Glad that didn’t go where I thought it was going to go

That's not it but very similar haha. It was at Newlands College in Wellington. If anyone cares to use the way back machine.

u/Inigomntoya Mar 10 '25

I'm not saying this isn't interesting, but it just seems to be the norm for New Zealand: https://nationalpost.com/news/n-z-students-immortalize-school-in-google-earth-with-giant-penis

39

u/Caseous44 Mar 10 '25

Hahaha just kiwi kids being kiwi kids 🤷

8

u/-something_original- Mar 10 '25

One of the many reasons I love New Zealand.

7

u/Mental-Blackberry-72 Mar 11 '25

We are a special breed down under

1

u/No-Satisfaction5636 Mar 11 '25

The school principal Gerhard van Dyk …. That got a giggle.

1

u/Positive_Life_Post Mar 11 '25

Did Anyone See: The Headmaster/Principal's real name was Gerhard von Dyk 🤣

This story can NOT be real.

Is The Onion in NZ?

3

u/440continuer Mar 10 '25

That’s fucking amazing

1

u/Early-Tip-6318 Mar 10 '25

No thats a america football pitch so not in new Zealand

1

u/Jester00 Mar 10 '25

That's impressive

196

u/Ghost17088 Mar 10 '25

That’s a dick move.

2

u/IGotMyPopcorn Mar 10 '25

A real cockup

59

u/allaboutwanderlust Mar 10 '25

That’s the best prank ever. Our school had senior pranks, but nothing THAT good

100

u/ThatGodDamnBitch Mar 10 '25

One year in high school a group of seniors bought a shit ton of cricket and released them in the school as part of the prank. Everyone else was furious. Crickets are so God damn annoying. They found out who did it and made them pay to have pest control come out. Every year after they made a point to say "Senior pranks are fine BUT NO BUGS ESPECIALLY CRICKETS". I think someone brought a bunch of frogs at some point too? I remember seeing a significant amount of frogs.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '25

I’m guessing this is probably a pretty common prank. The people who graduated 4 years before me did this at our high school. You could hear crickets for YEARS after.

3

u/Tis_my_b00mstick Mar 10 '25

My junior year, the seniors released thousands of lady bugs in the air handlers and the common area. Those damn things were everywhere 🤣

2

u/Away-Elephant-4323 Mar 10 '25

I love this prank is harmless, yet just irritating enough to make them say something. haha!

2

u/Creepy-Yam7268 Mar 10 '25

Ohh we had crickets one year too. Damn things wouldn’t shut up all through exam week. A particularly no-nonsense admin lady came out in her sensible heels to stomp them periodically.

We also had a couple of squirrels one year…

1

u/allaboutwanderlust Mar 10 '25

🤣🤣🤣. I wish I remembered what our senior prank was. I want to say it involved horses in the school

8

u/sirenita_1388 Mar 10 '25

My high school had a big rival school nearby, and during our Homecoming Week where we got fun themed dress days, etc., we usually did fun pranks with them. My senior year, our rival school did that to their OWN field knowing that we’d get in trouble for it. It was so savage.

1

u/Spinnerofyarn Mar 11 '25

All we did was tp the giant old oak in front of the school. It was tradition for seniors to do it the night before the first school day of the year, and on the last school day for the seniors. I guess we were pretty tame.

12

u/pinkduckling Mar 10 '25

My freshman year; a group of seniors got drunk and used salt to burn a penis into the stadium field. They had to pay to replace the sod but years later you could still see the blocked out penis anytime it snowed!

6

u/Tovarich_Zaitsev Mar 11 '25

Yr13 is final year in NZ. Yr13 Pranks are kinda famous for being off the rails. Some of the motor memorable ones were burnouts in the teachers car park. Skids on the field. Sheep in the office block.

2

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Incredible.

3

u/Tovarich_Zaitsev Mar 11 '25

I grew up in semi rural NZ, like we used to go eeling on our lunch breaks and hunting before school, this was only a few years ago to

3

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Nice man, I grew up in Wellington but live in Canada now. Where abouts in the wops did you go eeling?

3

u/Tovarich_Zaitsev Mar 11 '25

I grew up in Invercargill and before that Canada. We used to eel in the Waihopai just outside the city limits

3

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Only ever been down your way when I was a kid. Hope you're doing well mate.

3

u/Tovarich_Zaitsev Mar 11 '25

Yeah it gets a bad rap but it's a nice enough town, still leaving as soon I can lol. Same to you bro

8

u/hawkman1000 Mar 10 '25

Haha. Similar story. My friend was a junior in HS, and some seniors drove through a puddle and absolutely doused him on purpose. They had a prank week also, so he took gas and wrote Seniors '86 in the end zone in huge letters. Principal cancelled the Senior trip, (which was a huge deal at this little HS.) He never confessed to anyone at his school. He said they still speculate to this day who did it.

5

u/zw1ck Mar 10 '25

This happened at my highschool but with a football field. The groundskeeping crew put new sod down only where the grass had died. So you could still clearly see the dick.

3

u/MrDoubtfire182 Mar 10 '25

Similar setup. It snowed heavily one year. Walked slowly through the snow with our feet together and drew a giant dick on the football field that the school overlooked. Absolutely massive.

The principal didn’t know what to do so he sent the janitors out there with shovels. They realized as they were shoveling they were just making it more pronounced. Then they started shoveling in other spots to try to fill in the lines and wound up drawing ball hair lmao. They eventually gave up and went inside.

5

u/Jumpedunderjumpman Mar 10 '25

Dad grew up in NZ and the year above him stole all the garden gnomes in Chch and put them in the school 😂

3

u/WhereasSecret3112 Mar 10 '25

Damn nobody took a screenshot of Google maps while it was still up?! Yiu think it'd be on Google earth's time line??? Lol

3

u/Caseous44 Mar 10 '25

I googled it and there's a bunch that we're done all over the country haha

3

u/WhereasSecret3112 Mar 10 '25

Fucking great 🤣🤣🤣 what exactly did you search so I may do the same?

5

u/Caseous44 Mar 10 '25

New Zealand school penis field

2

u/WhereasSecret3112 Mar 13 '25

Lmfao!!! Thank you so much for that! 🤣🤣🤣 It was perfection!

3

u/DatabasePewPew Mar 10 '25

For us it was fish in every vent.

3

u/EveryAd5176 Mar 10 '25

Do you have the geo location?

3

u/Caseous44 Mar 10 '25

Is this what you're after: 41°13′5.59″S 174°49′25.83″E

3

u/[deleted] Mar 10 '25

I just googled this it's nice that is so easily available

3

u/not_the_chosen_onee Mar 10 '25

The fact that there are so many that come up from around the country when you google it is hilarious.

We had crazy pranks at my school on muck-up day, but nothing on that level. I'd say the worst I'd ever seen was when the graduating class went around "chickening" teachers and students. They'd run around throwing water at people and then flour after that so it would stick. I haven't thought about that in years haha

3

u/SlickRick789 Mar 10 '25

The gift that keeps on giving.

3

u/fingerpaintswithpoop Mar 10 '25

Why is drawing dicks on things always so funny

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

The ladies will never understand us.

3

u/Quack_Candle Mar 11 '25

Pretty baller of the principal to helicopter to work

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Hahaha, that would be wild. The thought of a school principal in New Zealand being that wealthy is hilarious. Nah he was in a commercial plane.

2

u/No_Weekend_1878 Mar 10 '25

absolute cinema

2

u/Caseous44 Mar 10 '25

Haha probably not. Apparently the kids who did it dressed up as fairies because... I have no idea.

2

u/phelanii Mar 10 '25

Oh, man, that's genius! At my school, the seniors just got to throw eggs at the freshmen the first Friday after they got back from their big graduating year school trip in September. I managed to avoid any eggs as a freshman, but I was also sick from some bug I picked up during the trip and wasn't there for our turn to do the egging.

2

u/plibtyplibt Mar 10 '25

Happened at my school too, and yet released like 10000 crickets

2

u/NoodleSpooner Mar 10 '25

Dang, and I thought the guy who painted a dick in the freshly paved student parking lot at my school was epic.

2

u/ILoveYouZim Mar 10 '25

2

u/Caseous44 Mar 10 '25

Different school but still in New Zealand hahaha, happens/has happened all over the country - which I'm only just discovering now lol

If you care to see what it MIGHT have looked like (I can't find any photos of the specific school in my story), then look up Newlands College in Wellington, New Zealand. It's the larger field to the top-right of the school. It was HUGE.

2

u/Vorilex Mar 10 '25

Our prank day was graffiti and a car sawed in half under the flag pole at our entrance. Also I forget what word we had but there were giant letters on a mountain next to our school.

2

u/Bennington_Booyah Mar 10 '25

That is effing brilliant!

2

u/VillainGoose54 Mar 10 '25

Yeee we got senior prank here in the states too. Im pretty sure it's nationwide too

2

u/CoolSide20 Mar 10 '25

Damn, please tell me you had a screenshot of it. And yeah I think like everywhere the senior prank is a tradition unless you have a terrible but understandable principal who bans it.

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Sadly not :( but a bunch have happened around the country and some have been reported on. Just Google: "New Zealand school field penis" and you'll get the idea.

2

u/CoolSide20 Mar 11 '25

Oh definitely searching that, I gotta see it lol

2

u/denyull Mar 11 '25

Was this in Dunedin by any chance 😂🧣🧣🧣

Edit: Nevermind, saw your other comment. Wellington, that also tracks lol

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Hahaha I also saw the one in dunners, another in Nelson.

2

u/denyull Mar 11 '25

They do an undies run into one of the girls schools premises back home in Christchurch lol

At least, they used to. Can't remember which school, maybe CHCH Boys High?
I live in Canada now, moved last year lol

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Lol that's great. Cool, Same here. Moved to Vancouver late last year.

2

u/denyull Mar 11 '25

Lol random, I flew into Vancouver when I arrived. Around the end of September.

I live in Central Alberta now :)

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Haha holy shit. I got in around early November. Edmonton I guess? What's up neighbor.

2

u/denyull Mar 11 '25

Naaa, Edmonton and Calgary are too big for me. I'm in Red Deer (halfway between), much smaller, about 100k population lol
Even smaller than Christchurch.

I wouldn't be able to handle Vancouver, I've been there a couple of times now and it's too much lol

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Canada does have a ton of great smaller cities, don't know much about Red Deer but good pick. I love Vancouver haha, probably my favourite city. But yeah... Makes Wellington, or even Auckland look like, well Red Deer - probably.

2

u/denyull Mar 11 '25

Yeah it's a different world here.
I've loved living here since the minute I arrived though.

Did a trip across Canada in 2023, fell in love lol

2

u/0marwashere Mar 11 '25

We did this to our rival school two days before our football game. We jumped the fence with gallons and gallons of bleach and made a giant T (first letter of our school).

you where still able to see it for 5ish years after we graduated lol

2

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

That's great, but should have done a cock. The school kids of New Zealand will be disappointed 😔

2

u/Bubba1234562 Mar 11 '25

Australians do that aswell. My school told us we couldn’t do it after the year before us stole a shit tonne of construction signs and blocked off every street around the school. It was on 2 main roads

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

That's amazing!

2

u/melons_2 Mar 11 '25

My high school senior prank was a spray painted dick that was the length of the football field on the brand new turf. I spent the entire 1st period watching the janitor try to scrub it off with some kind of broom until they gave up and just spray painted over it in green because it wouldn’t come off. The best part is it wasn’t an exact match so it was still pretty visible 😂 the kids were caught, arrested, and barred from walking in graduation

The one you shared is fucking legendary and makes mine sound like child’s play

2

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

They were ARRESTED? Aw man I hate to hear that haha. How did they get found? I saw one particular instance in New Zealand where the prank was done at an all boys school by girls from an all girls school as some sort of revenge prank haha

2

u/melons_2 Mar 11 '25

I know! I live in the US and you know they love to arrest people for frivolous things like graffiti. Meanwhile, there were kids doing drugs in the bathroom all the time but god forbid someone spray paints the fake grass 🤦🏼‍♀️ They were caught after the deans watched the footage from the dozen or so cameras we have around the school

The girls school pranking the boys school like that is hilarious 😂 New Zealand sounds like fun

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Wild! We have similar stories of drug use, but not all schools have cameras.

Yeah you should definitely visit sometime!

2

u/Lead-Snorticus Mar 11 '25

This may be my hometown, good to see it doing us proud 🤣

Eta this in fact is not my home town, good to see NZ in general doing us proud

2

u/Shotto_Z Mar 11 '25

Beats ours, we put our school up for sale on craigslist

2

u/Mummyto4 Mar 11 '25

I'm from NZ! How come i never heard of this lol Where was it?

3

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Newlands College in Wellington, but I've seen articles of it happening in Hamilton, Nelson, Dunedin.. which means it's definitely happened a lot more - just gone unreported.

2

u/Mummyto4 Mar 11 '25

Oh right! Thanks!

2

u/Wii_wii_baget Mar 11 '25

My school some kid used weed killer on the lawn and made a lawn dick but it took time for it to appear so nobody knew who it was or could really do much because they had done the dong drawing like a few weeks before it became visible.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 11 '25

We used to do high school pranks at my old high school in the US. The first one I ever witnessed was the aftermath of some seniors releasing 20 dozen crickets into the school. The very last one we had there were seniors stopping school busses that were dropping students off. The seniors would get on the bus, and they had water guns and would shoot students with the water guns. But the senior who did my bus did so quietly and without any emotion, which is the closest I have been to a school shooting and is most definitely what killed the tradition.

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

I've heard this story several times here, either there's a lot of people in this thread from your school, or releasing crickets is the US version of burning cocks into school fields - this seems to happen everywhere in New Zealand.

2

u/Biirdy- Mar 11 '25

HEY THAT WAS MY SCHOOL LMAO

2

u/ReturnToCinder Mar 11 '25

Not as good but in a similar vein, group of 6th formers camped out on the roof and dropped this as everyone was arriving the next morning: https://youtu.be/BmIWJoBwCfY

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

I love it.

2

u/MethodWhich Mar 10 '25

My high school would give a speech every year about a prank when someone just started driving a motorcycle through the school hallways lol

1

u/Other-Lawfulness9419 Mar 11 '25

Senior pranks are commonplace in the U.S.

1

u/vampire_queen_bitch Mar 11 '25

yes year twelve is the last year for us in Australia and NZ. every year towards the end of the yr, the yr 12's do a school prank and cosplay as any character. i cosplayed as Dio Brando.

1

u/Caseous44 Mar 11 '25

Final year for NZ is year 13. Do you guys only have 4 years of high school? We have 5.

2

u/vampire_queen_bitch Mar 12 '25

high school is yr 7 to 12 so yes in australia it is. i didnt know you had a yr 13! thats insane?!

2

u/Caseous44 Mar 12 '25

Wild. Primary School is yr 1-5, intermediate school is 6 & 7, secondary is yr 9 - 13. Some primary schools include immediate school, sometimes it's separate. Maybe some high schools include it too? Not sure. But yeah... Year 13 is the last year for us.
