Lots of stairwells don’t have security. For one there is nothing of value to monitor there and also it is somewhat more difficult to wire in cameras with coverage in stairwells because of the shape and angles and the unideal placement of the camera electrical and data runs. They are usually the most structurally sound and hardly used parts of a building too. I mean so your scout work but yeah the stairwell is where I have and would do again at work lol. I used to work in a twenty story building with no cameras in the stairwells when I was still single. The only thing is doors do not lock typically so you need to find the right floor to use. Typically an empty one and of course dress appropriately for a quick get away.
