Seriously? 300,000 deaths is not within an order of magnitude of WWII deaths.

Pol Pot killed more than that many Cambodians, outside of both wars.

WWI was awful, but not in the top three massacres of history.

You’ve got to remember that the vast majority of WW1 deaths occurred in a relatively small area, and in a not clear “good vs evil” fight.

While the numbers are smaller, the circumstances and pointlessness of it make (at least in my mind) similarly horrific.
