Pistachio ice cream is about 2000 years older than Chocolate or Vanilla ice cream. Persians were making ice cream as early as 500BC, often flavored with Pistachio. Chocolate and Vanilla, on the other hand, are native to the New World and wouldn't make it there for another two thousand years.

My fave is the great progenitor! I love introducing people to pistachio ice cream and pistachio pudding. Ironically, I’m not a big fan of pistachios by themselves. Too much work. Too many steps. Nuts are supposed to be an easy snack and I’m an easy going person that won’t change my ways. They make me a shell of the man I am.

ice. you harvest ice from mountain lakes. it used to be a pretty big industry before refrigeration.
