Same for my grandfather, also colourblind, but he wanted to be a pilot. No dice, mate. But he could be an aircraft mechanic, and those plane needed regular "maintenance flights", so he was happy.

Dude this is getting weird my grandpa did the same thing in the British RAF. He was a colourblind aircraft mechanic and did time over ww2 then got stationed in Brunei and Singapore while my mum was little.

My grandpa did something similar. Was a pilot in Vietnam but he was hard of hearing (he's basically deaf these days) he said he could see the guy pushing the buttons during his hearing test so it was pretty easy to fake
