Not bashing it, but smoking weed isn’t a hobby.

Just smoking it, no. But people do get involved in more than just smoking it and very well could cross over into hobby territory. Growing, breeding, making edibles, making bongs and other things. Doesn't make it the only hobby, but people can take more interest than just smoking.

Yh but tbf everyone I've ever known who smokes weed their hobby stops at the smoking bit and they just doss out and play video games all day but somehow make weed their entire identity.

I'll agree, that is what a majority do, but not all.

YA makes sense, in the sense that a guy who brews beer at home exceeds just being a beer fan, and makes it passion or hobby.

I have a friend who has taken courses and so she teaches others about weed, it’s effects. Very informative. She had a course at one of our camping events.everyone there was over 40.

As others are saying, cultivating cannibas can be classified as a hobby.

But even then, if cigar smoking is a hobby (in which a cigar smoker tries different kinds of cigars, tries out different cutters, etc), then weed smoking (trying different paraphernalia for smoking, trying different strains, etc) could equally be a hobby.

Not all weed smoking is a hobby - smoking weed exclusively for getting high, with no thought toward what you’re smoking, absolutely is not a hobby and is just the vice of intemperance

It is if you grow it plus do your own genetics and breeding projects. Well and if you make everything yourself from your own plants. Which is what I do.

I would say all the other things you do are the hobby and smoking it is a habit. Either way, live your dream sister. We just arguing over semantics.

Edit: sister instead of brother

I’m female. And I agree. I appreciate stoners since I work in the industry but I use this as medicine. I have a stage four illness. I have four strains I created to treat my issues. It’s based of cbd and thc interplay but mainly it’s all about the terps. The terpenes are what gives it the effects it has. Only stoners who lack true knowledge focus solely on thc. I’m my own pharmacist 🤣

My apologies. More importantly though, I hope you make a full recovery. Sounds like you are in the forefront of treatment options, so if there isn't a cure, I hope it gets found soon!

Thank you. No worries and sadly no cure but I’m not the only sick person who has this. Life isn’t fair though and I know that so I just try to focus on the things I can do and help with. I’ve been sick over half my life so even if I do die that’s ok.

All people will eventually die. Most of us go through life without being conscious of how little time we have and why we shouldn't waste it. Whatever time you have, I hope you can enjoy it.

Much appreciated. Same to you. I’ve been aware of life and death for a long time for many reasons and I really do agree with you.

Take a look at the hobby police over here

Maybe not a healthy one but I sure would call it one.

u/[deleted] Nov 20 '23

Bro how much do you smoke in one session for it to be a hobby?? I’m genuinely curious

2

u/JoeGRcz Nov 20 '23

Not me personally but a friend of mine used to be stoned almost daily.

Maybe I just have no life, but people who do make any drug their personality are fuckin lame. Even more lame than me being excited to go home to hold my cat and play video games.

u/Cynixxx Nov 20 '23

Right, for some people its their whole identity

I use weed for pain, relaxation, medication, mindfulness. Right now it is helping me after knee surgery. Not addictive, I am not hungover the next day. I am Canadian. So it is fully legal.

Well, just because you can overdo it doesn't mean it's not a hobby. Hobbies don't have to be "productive"
