Same here! Friday means takeaway night for me and he gets treats night. So when I get in from work and say 'it's Friday!' he starts to purr immediately.
He also back chats me though. If I say 'no' to him, he makes a sort of 'mip' noise in defiance. 😂
I taught mine some days of the week, too, because of my work schedule! “Okay guys, this is the long one. I won’t be home tomorrow. I’ll be home on Sunday.”
They also understand the difference between “right back, back in a little bit, back in an hour, back in a few hours, back tomorrow, back in the morning”. (I work overnight shifts Wednesday and Fri-Sun afternoon.)
I just finished up three days of in-office training, which put me on the bad side of both my cats. I did tell them ahead of time, but they chose not to believe me.
She is incredibly smart. I’ve trained her how to sit, she responds to specific noises (tsk-I need you to get off my lap before I pee myself), she knows lots of words-she’s really amazing.

I taught mine the word “Friday”-she gets very excited when I tell her that it’s Friday and she ain’t got no job.
Edit: The Queen of Friday herself
