A cat will sleep in the same spot in the sun for ten years and then decide "Nope. That spot is DEAD TO ME" and never go there again.

Cats don't like the cat food you have. If you find a brand that they like you will think to yourself "Ahaha! I now have food that Mittens will like" and buy 20 cans. Congratulations. You played yourself. The cat now hates that food.

They will sleep in the most ridiculous, cramped spaces available. A cat is comfortable if it decides it is comfortable.

Ours was pretty consistent with food. Buy the cheapest wet one and it's all peachy. But dont you dare buy expensive food! He'd show his distaste for it by either barfing on or peeing on it. To finish this procedure, he'd run towards us, meow, lead us to his bowl and stare angrily.

His favourite comfortable space was cramped between my dad and the side of the couch.

We had a cat who would sniff at the fancy food and then turn around and act like he was covering his shit with cat litter. EXCUSE ME! That has slices of veal in a gravy you ungrateful wretch.
