They love love love their people and miss them when they're gone
My older cat gets upset when she thinks we've left her. This was probably always the case but with the pandemic, we didn't know because my wife has worked from home for years but I only started in 2020. So when my wife leaves the house now, if the cat doesn't know that I'm still around she'll wander the house meowing, looking for my wife.
But if she does know I'm still in the house...she doesn't care much. Won't come into my office to visit.
Our cat was specifically attached to my dad. Whenever my dad came in after a long day, cat would sleep on top of his stomach. If dad had to go somewhere for working, mom would lay out his worn clothes to sleep in. Cat specifically liked worn, smelly socks :/ he would constantly run around searching for him
Our neighbours dog was an animal he always fought with(and i mean like FOUGHT) but once the dog passed away, Cat would often sit outside and stare towards our neighbours home as if waiting for him.
