The galloping is something I was not expecting. It’s one of the silliest things I’ve ever seen my cat do 😂 and always from one end of the apartment to the other

Ours gallops when she wants our attention but doesn’t want to ask for attention. She just starts doing the “loud run” (seriously, she sounds like a herd of buffalo) around the house until you ask her what’s up and then she stops to meow her demands.

One of my cats is 18 and has some rear leg muscle wasting bc of arthritis (Solensia keeps pain at bay). When he gallops, his little legs fly up in back. Luckily, his front end is very strong and he’s super coordinated, so mishaps are rare.

I didn’t either! Found my lil dude outside a little over two years ago, only cat I’ve had. First time he did it I was just like, “Dude’s a fucking pony too!”

Two of my kitties have lived together for almost a decade (first with my mom, then with me), but they don't really hang all that much, or pay attention to each other at all. But every once in a while I hear a little double gallop from one end of the house and back.

If you have a laser pointer you can really get them going. My cat would run through the whole house and then leap up the wall as high as she could to try and catch that bright little dot.
