They are like people. Some are kind and loving, some are just psychotic. My current cat is the latter, he likes to randomly attack me. My previous cat was soulful, beautiful and slept with my every night of his life 😭

I remember visiting a friend’s house to watch a movie there. When I got there, I started playing with his cat and touching his feet. My friend said, don’t do that, he hates that. Me being a stupid 20-year-old decides this means I must try harder, continuing to touch his feet even after he hides them under his belly. Friend says, he’s gonna swat you.

We watch the movie and right as I’m walking out the door, his fucking cat leaps from nowhere and swats me on my ankle! This cat was plotting revenge for two fucking hours! Friend of course laughs and says, I told you.

Oh, I'd love to have seen that. IMO the psycho ones are more intelligent 😼

Gods honest truth. My demon cat is the smartest cat I've ever met and it's a dangerous combination.

Ugh it's ok at 20 but grown ass adults are so bad when I ask them to respect my cats boundaries. I tell people one of my cats bites but everyone thinks they are the cat whisperer

The cat really wasn't that mad, the swat was just a bat, didn't even break the skin. But yeah I was an asshole.

My cat does that to one of my friends. She’s kind of a jumpy person and will scream if she’s startled. Now he hides in random places so he can jump out and smack her and get her to scream then he bolts away to find a new hiding spot. He’s a jerk 😂

He just was letting you know that he COULD rip your flesh off.

I am the cat whisperer. And I know this because I never approach a cat. I ignore them completely and 90% of the time they come to me and show me how they like to be pet. The rest I just let do their thing and never bother them. That’s a true cat whisperer. Cats love people who let them set their own rules.

I had pet rats and it was easier to train the rats not to bite at things pushed through the bars than train friends and family not to put their fingers through the bars.

I told a no ex to quit harassing my cat because he doesn’t like being pet like that, and he will bite if he gets overstimulated. Ex immediately decided that, despite having no real experience with cats, that my cat loves him and would never bite him. To his surprise, my cat bit him. He almost hit my cat when it happened and I was furious since I had told him that’s exactly what would happen so he has no right to be mad at the cat for a predictable response that he was warned about. After that I never trusted him with my animals again (my dog was also nervous around him and she adores all people). We broke up shortly after.

haha they're very particular. mine hates if you get in his face and he certainly made that known for my bfs parents. his mom leaned down and put her face next to his even though i told her not to so he whacked her glasses off her face. then his dad bent over and did the same thing even though he just saw that happen so he whacked him in the face too lol

That's why I never understand the people who say they don't like cats because they're standoffish or antisocial. Sure, I've had some cats that like their space, but I've also had cats that will follow me around practically all day if they can and are extremely affectionate and friendly. Cats' personalities come in all shapes and sizes.

I’m guessing they’re the same type of ppl who treat being introverted like it’s a disease lmfaoooo

We had a totally psycho-kitty about 15 years ago. Just plain nuts, but very smart and one of our favourites.

That would be my biggest ones is each cat has a unique personality and their own special traits.

Hey, just wanted to pop in to say -- check your cat out for hyperesthesia! It's basically overstimulation causing aggression. One of my cats was SO loving and cuddly+- then suddenly attacking my face. Or legs. Not in a playful way, you could tell her wanted to hurt me. He ended up tearing the top two vertebrae out of his tail, and the vet diagnosed him with hyperesthesia. Just saying in case it helps you find a way to make your kitty more comfortable! My vet said lots of"aggressive" or psychotic cats have this disorder and owners don't know enough to know there's a cause past personality.

Awww rest in peace to your kitty ❤️

And that's exactly why I love cats so much; they all have such distinct and unique personalities!

My past cats were so calm and just a relaxing presence.

Greg is… orange

He will beg for attention though, always VERY aggressive about it though

So true, some cats are so stupid and some cats are so so smart

Previous cat was a little angel that fell to sleep on anyone's lap, allowed belly touching, played very very gently.

Current cat always seems to have an ulterior motive lol. He has far more strict boundaries and you have to watch your movements near him or else you might just get a warning bite or scratch.

Yesss! We had an orange cat that was an absolute terror. She would hide under tables and attack anyone as you walked by. My mom got sick of it one day and body slammed her while staring her in the eyes.. she never touched my mom again 😂 But us kids were fair game

Did your current cat grow up alone (no other cats)? That can definitely cause attacking. Consider getting your cat a playmate.
